Electrophoretic, immunochemical, and protein sequence analyses were performed on plasma albumin of the tuatara (Sphenodon), a rare reptile endemic to New Zealand. The analyses revealed that, unlike other terrestrial vertebrates, tuatara do not seem to possess a 60- to 75-kDa plasma albumin.
