A 66-year-old male patient was admitted with dyspnea; physical examination revealed petechiae and systemic lymphadenopathy. Laboratory findings showed leukemia. The blasts in the peripheral blood were negative for cytochemical myeloperoxidase, and had condensed nuclear chromatin with a nucleolus.
