Investigations of non-photosinthesizing mutants of Chlamydomonas reinhardii with damaged activity of both or one of the photosystems have shown that the chlorophyll a form with the absorption maximum at 685 nm and low temperature fluorescence band at 696 nm is a part of the pigment-protein complex of PS-2.
