This report describes the first discovery in Costa Rica of a multidrug-resistant strain of Nakaseomyces glabratus (formerly Candida glabrata). The infection occurred in a 39-year-old man who had a complicated medical history, with repeated intra-abdominal infections, and eventually died from septic shock.
