Duck hepatitis A virus (DHAV) infection in ducklings causes acute hepatitis with considerable economic losses. In this study, Pekin and Muscovy duckling flocks (n=9) suffering from high mortality and hepatic lesions were examined by RT-PCR for DVHA. 44.4 % (4/9) of samples were positive for DHAV (5' UTR region), of which 100 % (4/4) were DVHA-3 (VP1 gene).
