Spike compactness (SC) is strongly associated with wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grain yield. In this study, we conducted a quantitative trait locus (QTL) analysis using a doubled haploid (DH) population derived from a cross between two common wheat varieties with contrasting spike morphology, revealing 16 stable QTLs associated with SC.
