In this study, the cadmium (Cd)-tolerant Ensifer adhaerens strain NER9 with quorum sensing (QS) systems (responsible for N-acyl homoserine lactone (AHL) production) was characterized for QS system-mediated Cd immobilization and the underlying mechanisms involved.
