Background: Mandibuloacral dysplasia (MAD) syndrome is a rare genetic disease. Several progeroid syndromes including mandibuloacral dysplasia type A (MADA), mandibuloacral dysplasia type B(MADB), Hutchinson-Gilford progeria (HGPS) and mandibular hypoplasia, deafness, and lipodystrophy syndrome (MDPL) have been reported previously.
