The phenotypically similar genetic diseases Zimmermann Laband syndrome (ZLS) and Temple-Baraitser syndrome (TMBTS) cause neurodevelopmental problems. Mutations in the gene coding for potassium voltage-gated channel, primarily KCNH1, cause these symptoms.
