Metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) is an untargeted technique capable of detecting all microbial nucleic acid within a sample. This protocol outlines our wet laboratory method for mNGS of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) specimens and tissues from sterile sites.
