ABSTRACT: Central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA) is a scarring alopecia that disproportionately affects patients with skin of color. Genetic studies have revealed that approximately 30% of CCCAs are associated with peptidyl arginine deiminase 3 misfolding mutations.
