Pepper blight, caused by the oomycete pathogen Phytophthora capsici (P. capsici), is one of the most destructive soilborne diseases worldwide. Between 2019 and 2020, 235 single spore isolates of P. capsici were collected from 36 commercial pepper planting areas in Sichuan, Chongqing, and Guizhou provinces in China.
