KCNQ2 mutations can cause benign familial neonatal convulsions (BFNCs), epileptic encephalopathy (EE), and mild-to-profound neurodevelopmental disabilities. Mutations in the KCNQ2 selectivity filter (SF) are critical to neurodevelopmental outcomes.
