Lassa fever (LF) is a viral hemorrhagic fever that causes high morbidity and severe mortality annually. The disease is endemic to two geographically separate areas within tropical West Africa, one in Nigeria and the second predominantly in Sierra Leone-Guinea-Liberia-Mali.
