Pseudohypoaldosteronism type 1 (PHA) is a syndrome of unresponsiveness to aldosterone. The severe form of this disease results from mutations in the genes that encode for the epithelial sodium channel subunits, SCNN1A, SCNN1B, and SCNN1G.
