PURPOSE: We previously identified an association between CC22 meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bloodstream infection isolates with an elevated vancomycin MIC (V-MIC) in the susceptible range (1.5-2 mg l-1) and endocarditis.
