A 68-year-old woman (patient 1) was diagnosed in October 2010 with a melanoma of the back of the superficial spreading melanoma subtype, with a Breslow thickness of 1.1 mm. Ulceration and mitoses were not observed. In June 2011, she developed right axillary lymph node metastases that were treated by surgery.
