Congenital hyperinsulinism (CHI) is a rare cause of hyperinsulinaemic hypoglycaemia (HH) and is due to an inappropriate secretion of insulin by the pancreatic β-cells. Genetic defects in key genes lead to dysregulated insulin secretion and consequent hypoglycaemia.
