PURPOSE: Adjuvant therapy with tamoxifen significantly reduces breast cancer recurrence and mortality in estrogen receptor positive disease. CYP2D6 is the main enzyme involved in the activation of the prodrug tamoxifen into the anti-estrogen endoxifen.
