BACKGROUND: A large outbreak of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in the U.K. occurred between 2001 and 2005 in Bristol, U.K. OBJECTIVES: To identify HBV strains circulating amongst risk groups in the HBV outbreak cohort.
