The tomato AGC protein kinase Adi3 is known to function as a suppressor of PCD and silencing of Adi3 leads to spontaneous cell death on leaves and stems. In an effort to isolate Adi3 interacting proteins, a yeast two-hybrid screen was carried out and identified the autophagy protein Atg8h as an Adi3 interactor.
