Three polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays - kinetoplast DNA (kDNA) PCR, 7SL PCR, ITS1 PCR - were compared for their ability to detect leishmanial parasites in the skin tissue aspirates of 212 Palestinian suspect cases of cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL).
