Allele specific oligonucleotide probes have been used to show that DNA, amplified by the polymerase chain reaction, from eleven thermostable Adh alleles extracted from populations on different continents contains the triplet TCC, which distinguishes AdhFChD (Fast Chateau Douglas) from AdhF (Fast).
