AIM: To assess the agreement between clinical diagnosis of hyaline membrane disease (HMD) and lung necropsy pathological findings of deceased neonates. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Review of clinical files and necropsy studies of 40 newborn infants ≤ 37 weeks gestational age.
