Peroxisomes are ubiquitous organelles of eukaryotic cells that fulfill a variety of biochemical functions, including beta-oxidation of fatty acids. Here, we report that an ortholog of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae peroxisome biogenesis gene PEX13 is required for pathogenicity of Colletotrichum orbiculare.
