Targeted therapy against the EGF receptor was shown to be effective in a subgroup of patients with KRAS wild-type colorectal cancer. Therefore, cetuximab (Erbitux) or panitumumab (Vectibix) obtained the authorization by the EMEA restricted to patients with KRAS wild-type tumours.
