No typing system exists for Aspergillus fumigatus, though isolates are distinguishable by phenotypic characteristics. DNA was prepared by lysis of protoplasts, followed by deproteination, phenolchloroform extraction, and dialysis. DNA prepared was of uniform size and exceeded 60 kb.
