Photosystem I is one of the two multisubunit pigment-protein complexes in the thylakoid membranes of cyanobacteria. Subunit III of photosystem I complex was isolated from a mutant of the cyanonbacterium Synechocystis sp PCC 6803, which lacks subunit II.
