A Gram-positive, aerobic, non-motile, non-acid-alcohol-fast strain, designated YIM 61095(T), was isolated from the root of Maytenus austroyunnanensis collected from a tropical rainforest of Xishuangbanna in Yunnan Province, south-west China.
