The gene coding for the 100 kDa monomeric protein (P100) of the S layer of Thermus thermophilus HB8 has been cloned in the Escherichia coli plasmid vector pUC9. Recombinant plasmids were selected by colony screening with anti-P100 rabbit antiserum.
