A novel aerobic, non-motile, Gram-negative bacterium, designated AS06/20a(T), was isolated from coastal waters of the Adriatic Sea and subjected to polyphasic taxonomic analysis. Cells were rod-shaped and formed non-pigmented punctiform colonies on agar plates.
