A Gram-positive, moderately halophilic bacterium, designated strain EN8d(T), was isolated from sediment from Lake Erliannor in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China. Cells were facultatively anaerobic, rod-shaped and motile and did not display endospore formation.
