Oryza sativa L. cv IR64 is a widely cultivated, salt-sensitive indica rice, while Pokkali is a well-known, naturally salt-tolerant relative. To understand the molecular basis of differences in their salinity tolerance, three subtractive cDNA libraries were constructed.
