The auxin indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) is known to promote the biosynthesis of active gibberellins (GAs) in barley (Hordeum vulgare). We therefore investigated the possibility that this interaction might contribute to the gravitropic response of barley leaf sheath pulvini.
