Mucopolysaccharidosis IVA is an autosomal recessive disease caused by the deficiency of N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulfate sulfatase (GALNS). Mutation screening of the GALNS gene was performed for seven MPS IVA patients with attenuated phenotypes from three unrelated families.
