The presence of polymorphic restriction sites (S2, M2, P2) of the apolipoprotein AI-CIII-AIV gene cluster for the respective Sst1, Msp1, and Pst1 enzymes was assessed after hybridization with a radiolabelled apolipoprotein AI gene probe in 64 Type 2 diabetic patients and 67 healthy control subjects, all Europids.
