The SSCP of ORFs 1, 2, 3, 15 from the cps region for capsule biosynthesis was determined for 56 epidemic isolates, 4 reference strains of K. pneumoniae including A5054 and B5055, and 12 strains isolated casually from stool samples. From 6 up to 14 different SSCP-profiles were observed for tested loci, which combined together distinguished 31 SSCP-genotypes. Epidemic strains could be diversified into 15 genotypes...
