The Fanconi syndrome is a familial disease in the Basenji. Its typical clinical signs are glycosuria and euglycaemia. In the United States, 10% of the Basenji population shows signs of glycosuria. The purpose of this study was to investigate the presence of glycosuria in the Basenji population in The Netherlands. Results showed few dogs to have glycosuria.
