Five microsatellites were used to study the genetic diversity and genetic structure of one wild and five domestic varieties of common carp in China (the Yangtze River wild common carp, Xingguo red carp, purse red carp, Qingtian carp, Russian scattered scaled mirror carp and Japanese decorative carp).
