Primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1) is a rare autosomal metabolic recessive disease, caused by the deficiency of the liver peroxysomal alanine:glyoxylate aminotransferase (AGT), characterized by accumulation of calcium oxalate crystals in kidneys and others organs.
