A cDNA encoding a Rel/NF-kappaB homologue was cloned from a beetle, Allomyrina dichotoma, by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reactions (RT-PCR) taking advantage of the conserved Rel homology domain (RHD) to synthesize primers.
