To investigate the role of individual structural domains in viroid pathogenicity and replication, a series of interspecific chimeras was constructed by exchanging the terminal left (TL) and/or pathogenicity (P) domains between tomato apical stunt (TASVd) and citrus exocortis (CEVd) viroids.
