Csg1p and Csg2p have been shown to be involved in the synthesis of mannosylinositol phosphorylceramide (MIPC) from inositol phosphorylceramide. YBR161w, termed CSH1 here, encodes a protein that exhibits a strong similarity to Csg1p.
