OBJECTIVE: To induce fluoride-resistant mutant of S. mutans in vitro and find out the differences of cariogenicity between them. METHODS: Fluoride-resistant strain Ingbritt-FR was obtained by subculturing S. mutans Ingbritt to TSA and TSB containing different concentrations of fluoride.
