Cellular polyamines of 58 strains belonging to the Flavobacterium-Flexibacter-Cytophaga-Sphingobacterium complex were analysed by HPLC. Homospermidine was found in all species of Flavobacterium, Chryseobacterium, Empedobacter, Myroides, Cellulophaga, Salegentibacter, Psychroserpens and Gelidibacter of the family Flavobacteriaceae.
