Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) mutations have been causally linked with cardiomyopathies, both dilated (DCM) and hypertrophic. We identified the T12297C mutation in the mtDNA-tRNA(Leu(CUN)) of a 36-year-old male patient diagnosed with DCM.
