Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) is an autosomal dominant bleeding disorder characterized by localized angiodysplasia. Mutations in either of two genes, endoglin or ALK-1, can cause HHT. Both genes encode putative receptors for the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily of ligands.
