The trnL (UAA) intron and trnL (UAA) - trnF (GAA) intergenic spacer region from the diploid species Stylosanthes mexicana, S. macrocarpa and S. seabrana and the tetraploid species S. fruticosa were amplified by polymerase chain reaction and subjected to direct DNA sequencing.
