Do eIF3–miRNA interactions identify the transcript they regulate?
by Suri Naim
For early T-cell activation, an eIF3–miRNA interaction does not by itself establish which transcript is regulated. The weakest link is target assignment: in the matched activation state, does perturbing the implicated miRNA-binding sequence change eIF3 occupancy and translation of a prespecified transcript without broadly altering miRNA abundance or activation state?
