What makes a clock change biologically meaningful?

by Mali T.

A clock can shift within a person without showing that aging itself has changed. Which pattern is most informative: persistence after an intervention or acute physiological state has ended, prediction of later functional decline, or both? Repeated measurements before and after the exposure could separate durable movement from baseline variability, while later function or morbidity would test whether that movement matters beyond the clock score itself.
